Might I remind you who runs the Adoption Board now?
A couple of comments have come in suggesting that all those fretting about children being adopted by same-sex couples should relax, because all those who wish to adopt are carefully scrutinised.
Yes, but how can we now have faith in the Adoption Board which controls these situations?
Its chairman is that oddball, Ivan Grech Mintoff, whose mother was our former prime minister’s sister, and who has just announced that he has created a ‘break away from Europe’ party on whose ticket he will contest the European Parliament elections.
And its members include such luminaries as Magistrate Consuelo Herrera’s 23-year-old daughter, a law student (no prizes for guessing the selection criteria) and Marie Louise Coleiro Preca’s righthand woman and personal assistant, Connie Griffiths.

How very reassuring and all party lackeys too.Reminiscent of the Nazi attempts at placing children with politically correct families for the ultimate gain of the state.
” … for the ultimate gain” of a fascist dictatorship that placed “guns before butter” and who needed children, lots of them, as cannon fodder to establish a proposed “thousand year Reich”,
Suldati tal-Azzar?
Poor children!
And we have become toys for politician children to play with.
Poor, poor children for sure!
Fancy putting THAT magistrate’s daughter on the board!
So Joseph says he turned Malta into a “more European state” with adoptions for gay couples and the adoption board is chaired by a declared anti-European who wants the dough of the European Union.
By the way, does the law state that it’s gay “couples”? What if there is a menage-a-trois ? If it’s a right for a couple, isn’t it a right for a threesome too?
Alla maghna mela meta nafu min huma dawn il-hbieb tal-hbieb. mafja shiha.
I would think this would be worrying irrespective of whether unsuitable parents appearing before the board were straight or gay.
What happens to the adopted child if the parents divorce? Will the child have to go through a second psychological trauma seeing his or her adoptive parents fighting it out in court?
[Daphne – By definition, the status of adopted children is exactly the same as that of any other children with parents.]
