    Anglu Farrugia was being honest.

It is no wonder he got dumped.

Honesty does not figure in the MLP manual.

    • H.P. Baxxter says:

He didn’t get dumped. He got promoted.

I wish you’d stop being so Maltese. Speaker of the House is a constitutional post far higher than deputy leader of a political party.

      • Tabatha White says:

In the pre-election period, he got dumped and i the post-election period he got retained.

The measure of disfavour conferred by the first move proportionately necessary for the second.

      • Makjavel says:

To shut him up, like Lou Bondi and his position as Keeper of the Flutes to His Majesty Muscat.

      • kram says:

Yes he got dumped by being promoted. Clearly Anglu Farrugia was not being kept up to date and in my opinion it was all orchestrated to dump him a few months before the election and elect a Deputy Leader acceptable to the ‘Sliema type’ switchers.

      • curious says:

I have my doubts if Anglu Farrugia himself looks at it as a promotion.

Politicians tend to have a narrow vision and if the ‘promotion’ or career posting is not strictly within the political arena, it doesn’t count much for them. Except financially, of course.

      • PWG says:

        How about kicked upstairs?

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

Bla bla bla dumped bla bla kicked upstairs.

Jesus tapdancing Christ, do I have to explain everything?

The Malta Labour Party (Yes, by God, not “PL”) has NOT distanced itself from Anglu Farrugia, nor has it cast him out or repudiated him or cut him loose in any way. It has kept him as Speaker of the House in which they hold the majority.

He is as close to the MLP as he ever was. He is, and will remain, a Speaker Laburist, whatever the legal fiction of “neutrality”. I know you lawyer-minded Maltese love it, but that’s just a load of rubbish to cover your troglodytic arses.

        There.

  2. ciccio says:

Mr. Speaker must be sorely disappointed, because the completion dates of both the Empire Station and the Parliament buildings have been delayed.
