Amazing, isn’t it, how the idiots in our midst go on about how fabulous he is because he was a such a wonderful tourism minister for a paltry 22 months under PM Sant in the late 1990s, but then conveniently forget he was Minister of Industry when the economy had a broken back in the mid-1980s, and Minister of Public Works when the island was being raped by robber barons in the early 1980s. We all remember that Lorry Sant was Mintoff’s Minister of Public Works, but oh-so-conveniently forget that our current EU Commissioner was too.
Pro-EU membership and pro-democracy, my eye. What a fraud the man is.

The pettiness and the ridiculousness of many Maltese people is staggeringly unique. I used to travel frequently for work purposes and have never witnessed such a mind set anywhere.
They have some sort of obsession in being the youngest in something. I would choose an older person most times over the youngest in a group when it comes to politics, especially if it means passing over an eighteen year old.

He was a government twat during the golden years and he continued to be a paid-off twat in various guises with public-listed companies in between government jobs.
He campaigned vociferously against the EU and now he says he voted YES for the EU. What a joker. These MPs are so unprincipled. Will never understand why the people voted for him. A national embarrassment indeed.
Does Maritime Affairs include holding authority over laying of pipelines, say “between Turkey and South of Italy”, same as the ones Azerbaijan is aiming for as a priority over the next 4 years?

We have a saying in Maltese that would fit 100% Karmenu Vella’s behaviour during the hearing not knowing this and that:

Why didn’t he tell us he was Carmelo Caruana’s (PN) canvasser in Żurrieq but decided Labour was better biex jakkwista?
A commissioner designate in a European Union which he never approved of and was part of a government that had called Wesiern Europe,the Europe of Cain. The level of buffoonery of these people has no limit.
I think he’ll still be more concerned with ensuring ‘red growth’ rather than green or blue growth…..
