Standards keep rising under Labour: Pawlu L-Machine Gun with PBS chairman

Published: November 26, 2014 at 11:56pm

This picture also features in my previous post, but I think it deserves a separate post of its own because it is quite fascinating.

On left: Pawlu L-Machine Gun, (Paul Vella ex PC1144) the retired police constable who was reinstated into the force when Don Manuel became Police Minister, and who is now one of his Glock-carrying drivers

On right: Tonio Portughese, chairman of Public Broadcasting Services, the national public service broadcaster

If I have worked it out correctly from their kazin tal-banda T-shirts, they are celebrating the feast of Sacro Cuor parish in Sliema.

What a difference from the usually well-groomed and well-spoken chairman. Somehow, the hamallagni within manages to get out and surface up.

If the 2013 election served a purpose, to me it helped me identify the hamalli and Mintoffjani who kept a low profile and rarely uttered anything political during the last 15-20 years, in particular during the years preceding EU membership. They all came out (primarily on Facebook) during the last general election campaign.

    You can never trust anyone.

I never thought that the P.B.S., or better still Xandir Malta jew Dardir Malta has obliged their chairman to put on a uniform.

      He looks great in it..

One wonders whether they will impose it on their chief executive as well.

From the above picture it seems that the P.B.S. chairman is being fed like a pig with that belly on which he has rested the extra large wine bottle.

I bet his is bigger than Mallia’s.

The award of the OMRI does not entitle you to be sytled “Cavaliere” in the strictest sense, and he is probably “Dr.” because of him being styled as “Dottore” on the OMRI brevet or diploma.

In Italy, everyone is something – Ragoniere, Ingeniere, Cavaliere, Dottore – it never ends. They are the most pompous far*s around.

I remember him from the 70s and he always came across as an underground Sliema Laburist.

During discussions you never really knew where he stood.

His career at SGS probably brought him in contact with the big shots of Mintoffian politics in the 80s and that resolved his ambiguous political stand.

[Daphne – Not underground at all. The major part of Sacro Cuor parish and the Lazy Corner in Sliema have always been Labour strongholds. They’re very mean streets – narrow and with titchy two-room houses. Brothers Emmanuel and Joseph Cuschieri are from the Lazy Corner and they are typical of what you get there.]

I really give up, this is just so frustrating. So Muscat splashes out much more money on his MPs, their relatives and friends and then comes up with this. What’s worse, people’s comments make me despair, they completely focus on this and comment accordingly while missing the big picture.

  12. betty says:

In the meantime in Spain, Anna Mato the Health Minister has resigned over accusations of husband being linked to corruption.

Here in Malta we have Conrad Mizzi employing his wife as a something to China; Chris Cardona being caught out with the casino license issue; Luciano Busuttil and his meddling in tenders; Owen Bonnici being arraigned in court a while back and still acting as minsiter; Manuel Mallia and his Eur500,000 in cash and his driver shooting; Helena Dalli and her illegal construction; Toni Abela and his blokka silg; And yet they’re all still in their position. These are the ones that we know of as i’m certain quite a few more will surface.

    • observer says:

The ‘formal ruling’ issued by the Court ‘signaled that Ms Mato had no knowledge of any possible crime’

And the prize for making a mockery of Parliament goes to…

”Helena Dalli demands political responsibility for ‘lies’ said against her”

”Dr Dalli said a promise of sale had been signed and the would-be buyer had publically declared that it was he who was carrying out the works, using his own workers.”

I would dearly like someone to publish a copy of the enforcement notice. Think about it, in this circuis we are living in these days…the enforcement notice is issued to the owner but the owner enters into a promise of sale with a third party. The third party carries on illegal work but he was never mentioned in the enforcement notice and one wonders if he can say that he never received any notification. Pieces of paper stuck to a wall can easily blow away after all.

Please correct me if I am wrong but this is looking pretty much like a sweet deal.

Was the would-be buyer charged for his illegal work, although this in no way exonerates the owner/s of the building?

It is absolutely unbelievable how Labour always tries to identify itself with a common, badly groomed and ignorant class of society instead of leading by example and behaving correctly.

[Daphne – That’s exactly how they haven’t identified themselves over the last five years, which is why so many smart and pseudo-smart people voted for that trash. There’s a lot to be said for reading and keeping up to date. The common factor in Labour voters of all stripes is that they are stupendously uninformed, to a shocking and disturbing degree, even the hyper-literate ones. They are not even familiar with the characters and play-actors they are putting on the stage with their vote.]

How can structural works be carried out on a property that has an enforcement notice on it already?

Has a bank loan be taken out to finance this development? The banks nowadays do not lend money for the purchase or development of properties with an existing enforcement notice on them.

Speaking of the PBS Chairman, I recall his self-satisfaction at cutting a deal with RAI-Radio Vaticana for Radio Malta to transmit a daily programme “Vatican Viewpoint”.

The hypocrisy of Labour cronies is astounding. Not even during the heyday of EFA’s government did PBS give such exposure. The separation between Church and State are again being blurred by, of all people, the most. liberal, progressive and secular government of Malta.

The Vatican monolithic structure must have a strong appeal to Joseph’s Taghna Lkoll Movement as it propagates the philosophy of a unifying, totalitarian attitude in politics.
