‘Smart casual’

This photograph was taken this morning and released by the government’s Department of Information.

It shows Family Minister Michael Farrugia boasting about maintenance works on social housing at St Paul’s Bay.

Those of you who think that maintenance works are exactly that, and not the stuff of exception warranting a press conference by a cabinet minister: I am with you.

But local council elections are being held in St Paul’s Bay next month.

The man on the far left is Raymond Tabone, mayor (Labour) of St Paul’s Bay. His invitation must have said ‘smart casual’.
