The Nationalist Party’s news portal reports that at around 11 o’clock this morning, Marco Gaffarena and Daniel Zammit were seen together at Gaffarena’s illegal petrol station in Hal Luqa.

Gaffarena gave Zammit the keys to a Toyota car with UK plates. Zammit then drove off in it.

Right up to the point where he was pensioned out of the force (at a healthy and fit 35) a few weeks ago, Daniel Zammit was investigating and prosecuting Marco Gaffarena’s brother-in-law – his sister’s husband – for murder.

And six and a half years after the murder was committed, the inquiry is still dragging on and Gaffarena’s brother-in-law has not even been placed under a bill of indictment. Meanwhile, the house where the murder was committed has been demolished, which means that jurors and the judge in any eventual murder trial will not be able to inspect the place where the crime was committed.
