The chairman of the Malta Council for Science and Technology has just hung up on live on radio when telephoned by David Thake of Radio 101.

He answer his mobile phone, Thake introduced himself, and the chairman hit the ‘cut’ button. He did not even have the civility and good manners to give some excuse like “I apologise, but I can’t speak now.”

As Thake pointed out to his escalating number of listeners, that is no way for people paid out of public money to behave, especially when it’s bad enough that they only go in to work one morning a week (if that).

I will add something else – and especially when their appointments are the result of corruption.
