Sleaze update: Jose Herrera in charge of anti-Mafia-money-laundering legislation for gaming

Maybe they’re operating on the principle of setting a thief to catch a thief. Oh, I’m not suggesting that he launders money for the Mafia, but when you think Mr Squeaky Clean Fine Upstanding, you don’t think of Consuelo Herrera’s nervous-tic brother, Robert Musumeci’s ‘brother-in-law’ and somebody who spends his afternoons in Valletta coffee-shops swearing and blaspheming with voluble references to something which, if pronounced in English, would be pulling a cart.

There’s more to it than that. I have really strong reservations about somebody who makes his living by defending criminals working on legislation to deter them. There’s something particularly cracked about that.
