Taghna Lkoll signage update: muturi = motors

I really don’t think it’s a coincidence that all these dreadful Manglish signs have been cropping up over the last couple of years.

They’ve obviously got rid of the sign-writers or the persons who checked them.

The Maltese word for motorcycles is ‘muturi’, so obviously, in Taghna Lkoll administrative language, that must be ‘motors’.

This sign is at the Fond Ghadir end of Stella Maris Street in Sliema. Perhaps the PS for the Simplification of Bureaucracy – a native of that parish – might have a word with the Minister for Transport. He’s the one in the baggy old T-shirt, Michael.
