Thaer Mukbal of Sadeen Education Investments Ltd with Labour Party auditor

I haven’t seen him for a few years now, but isn’t that Deo Scerri, the Labour Party’s auditor and director of Bank of Valletta, sitting cosily in a Valletta corner this morning with Thaer Mukbal of Sadeen Education Investment Ltd?

Of course, if it isn’t, I will correct that immediately. But I think it is.

Deo Scerri’s accountancy firm, RSM Malta, represents Sadeen Education Investment Ltd in Malta and the company is registered to its office address at Cobalt House, as is another company, Sadeen Rehabilitation Services Ltd, in which the Jordanian Hani Hasan Naji Al Salah is the sole shareholder.

Odd how many people – including the Opposition – have missed the significance of Sadeen Education Investment Ltd being represented by the Labour Party’s auditor, who is also liaising with architects and others on getting the project off the ground.

But then it wouldn’t occur to them that this, too, is corruption: the Labour Party’s auditor speaks to the Labour leader on behalf of his client the Jordanian, and the Labour leader – wearing his prime minister’s hat – bends over backwards (or would that be forwards) to oblige.
