When you’re in the news, just keep rubbing people’s noses in it

A reader has sent me this picture of a car with a GAFFARENA number-plate defiantly parked right under a ‘No stopping’ sign in Xlendi between 1pm and 5pm today (long lunch). Wardens did not give it a ticket.

From another reader, I have received a photograph of the owner at lunch yesterday (the accompanying email actually said “eating like a savage”) in Marsalforn and he looks to be Christ Gaffarena, who is Marco Gaffarena’s brother.

Note: The name ‘Christ’ is not pronounced like Jesus Christ and is not a reference to him. It is pronounced like the first half of the name ‘Christopher’ and is actually how Maltese people from the boondocks abbreviate that name instead of ‘Chris’.
