Krista Caruana, formerly Krista Falzon, who until the general election campaign worked as a reporter for the Labour Party’s television station, (Super) One, has been appointed Director of Client Relations at the state general hospital, Mater Dei, without an interview process or call for applications.

Health and Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi said, in reply to a question put to him in parliament by Opposition MP Charlo Bonnici, that she was appointed to this position on 1 February this year.

He did not add that prior to that, she had been on the public payroll since the last general election, in a ‘position of trust’ in his private secretariat.
