Meet Colin Fenech, a former employee of Malta Dairy Products Ltd, who left his job as a milk production attendant, when Labour was elected to government, for a position on the state payroll as Head of Customer Care at the Ministry of Tourism (person of trust).

His friend Mario Spiteri, who worked with Fenech at Malta Dairy Products – but as a security man – has also been put on the state payroll at the Tourism Ministry, as a customer care officer.

Fenech’s other friend Rita Baker has been put on the state payroll at the Tourism Ministry as well – also in the Ministry’s customer care department. Her brother Louis Vella has been given a state-paid job at the Tourism Ministry too – as a messenger.

And Vella’s wife Romina Zammit has also been put on the Ministry’s payroll – as a cleaner.

Rita Baker may be on the state pay-roll at the Tourism Ministry, but her real job is helping out the Minister’s wife, Elena Zammit Lewis, running errands for her notarial office and doing admin work. She also chauffeurs Mrs Zammit Lewis around and plans her husband’s coffee mornings.

Between 1pm and 1.30pm, these members of the Court of Edward Zammit Lewis can be found at the Tikka Bar in Old Treasury Street having a liquid lunch.
