Prime Minister’s wife celebrates birthday by taking 28 to lunch as fresh scandals break

The Prime Minister and Mrs Muscat took 28 people to lunch at Paranga restaurant in St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, yesterday, booking a table for 30 and ordering a massive cake (see picture) to celebrate Mrs Muscat’s 42nd birthday. The guests included the Tourism Minister and Mrs Edward Zammit Lewis, and the head of government communications and Mrs Kurt Farrugia.

With major scandals involving the Prime Minister’s chief of staff and his Special Minister breaking only that morning, they stayed at the restaurant until early evening and then stood around and chatted outside to attract even more attention.

Mrs Muscat’s state-funded personal assistant uploaded this carefully curated photograph on her Facebook page this morning.

I checked with the owners of the restaurant whether the Prime Minister’s party was given a bill, and was told that they were, and that they paid it.
