Shady billionaire new Maltese citizens have been given full banking facilities at the Bank of Valletta

William Charles Erbey, the US billionaire who was forced by New York regulators to relinquish control of his businesses, and Zhongtian Liu, the Chinese billionaire accused of siphoning millions from his aluminium business (he denies the allegations) have both been given full banking facilities at the Bank of Valletta.
Both Erbey and Liu bought Maltese citizenship under the government’s EU-passport-sales programme, and have been placed on the electoral roll (as has Mrs Erbey), giving them the vote in the 2018 general election.
