The Prime Minister’s wife swims for three hours – accompanied by three police and/or military vessels – and is celebrated by the sort of people who have only been swimming for two generations as though she has returned from a five-month solo trek through the Australian Outback.

But Mrs Muscat was safe – because right there on one of the police launches, for some reason that warrants an explanation, were her close friend and her husband’s aide Glenn Bedingfield, together with Luke Dalli, whose mother is the Minister for Civil Liberties, and who co-hosts a show with Bedingfield on the Labour Party’s radio station.
