Russian mogul with $50m homes in Beverly Hills pays just €775,000 for six Maltese/EU passports

Russian-Armenian telecoms mogul Albert Avoldyan paid just €775,000 for Maltese citizenship for himself, his wife and his four minor children.

All six members of the immediate Avdolyan family are listed in the Malta Government Gazette of 2 August.

The Malta government scheme – and this aspect of it has been consistently overlooked in news reports – charges only actual applicants €650,000 for citizenship, but then allows applicants to bring in a spouse and minor children at just €25,000 each, and in-laws, grandparents and sons/daughters who are over 18 at €50,000 each.

So what we are looking at here is people who paid $50 million for two mansion estates in Beverley Hills but just €775,000 for citizenship of the European Union and complete freedom of movement in the Schengen Zone for six people.

What a corrupt, crazy government we have landed ourselves with.

Selling EU citizenship to moguls for peanuts.
