Nice to know public money is being well spent

When Lou Bondi knows how far he’s got up everybody’s nose by conveniently arranging things with the Labour Prime Minister’s corrupt sidekick, Keith Schembri, to have himself put on the public sector payroll for doing nothing or next to nothing, the least he could do is maintain a discreet silence on Facebook.

Instead he bombards his audience with public posts about expensive guitars he’s bought, trips he’s taken, meals he’s eaten, concerts he’s played, balconies and beaches on which he’s relaxed, and rock gods he’s travelled to watch and listen to.

He can do what he likes, of course, but if one of the aspects of his job – we don’t know for sure, because both he and the government are refusing to publish his latest contract – is to help maintain a good image for the hand that feeds him, he should just keep quiet. The anger people feel towards him is rebounding pretty badly on the government which keeps him on a leash of euros, even as he dances around on a retainer paid to him by wannabe skyscraper mogul Silvio Debono.
