Those were the days: Joseph Cuschieri and Joseph Muscat. And isn't it incredible how much they've both changed physically in such a short time?

Those were the days: Joseph Cuschieri and Joseph Muscat. And isn’t it incredible how much they’ve both changed physically in such a short time?

The Malta Independent has interviewed Joseph Cuschieri, about what he plans to do now that he has failed to be re-elected to the European Parliament.

He’s resting, he said. You know, like those actors in between jobs. The newspaper reports:

But he was adamant about one point – he would not accept making it through parliament through co-option, stating that “as a matter of principle,” he would only take up a seat in the House of Representatives if he was elected to fill it.

Bear in mind that this is the man who, six years ago, gave up his seat in the Maltese parliament so that the newly elected leader of the Labour Party, Joseph Muscat, could take it without being elected and become Leader of the Opposition.

And who would believe that he would decline an offer of co-option in our parliament when just a few weeks ago he changed his mind in just 3 days to contest the European Parliament election when he had just declared that he would not?

I don’t believe that Joey even presented the co-option scenario to Joseph Cuschieri!
As far as Muscat is concerned, Cuschieri is done like dinner and Cuschieri has to fend for himself now.

  2. Rocky says:

    Is he registering for work?

Plenty of time to make his mind up should the opportunity arise. Or he will be told what to do by Joey.

Sorry, will be convinced by Joey.

As the Maltese like to say “qed jiekol minn gewwa”.

Il-kliem ta’ Joseph Cuschieri anqas jiswa karlin. Kelma minghand il-lijder u tarah jaghmel u-turn.

  5. H. Prynne says:

Bad luck Cuschieri, you’ve been Muscat’s bitch for too long to change now.

  6. Paul Vincenti says:

Mr Cuschieri would do well to investigate another pathway.

He should know that we are not impressed with his need for rest. He hardly ran a marathon, for goodness sake.

Maybe he should have said something like “I am taking time out to lick my wounds and trying hard to come to terms with the shock of not being elected. I need to take some time out to come up with a plan B’ I really thought I was going to be elected after the way I cleverly manipulated the media. To my surprise, the electorate were not as gullible as I thought they were.” Sigh.

This was just a subtle hint to show the PM that he’s getting inpatient waiting for his iced bun

  9. Pablo says:

A new dance everybody is doing the “Franco Debono”.

  10. Persil says:

Did he get married? If yes, then he might be resting from honeymoon hangover perhaps. Why don’t you leave this guy alone? He is of no news value.

  11. bun-seeker says:

I am sure Muscat will find an iced bun to shut Cuschieri’s mouth

  12. Joe Fenech says:

Resting? When I rested I was almost twice his age. Eh hija, meta l-gvern u l-EU jippompjaw, ikollok easy life.

  13. Osservatore says:

Of course he is resting. There is some very stiff competition to be Joseph Muscat’s floor rag and being done over so many times becomes quite a task in itself.

  14. GiovDeMartino says:

He is still in time to change his mind about co-option. It wouldn’t be the first time.
