@Pat: I have the two feature films you mention apart from my latest acquisition – my favourite remains Life of Brian. I am an avid movie fan. But locking myself up for Monty Python..isn’t that a bit excessive, Pat? I’ve never locked myself up for anyone or anything and it’s a tiny bit too late to start now.

If you have seen most of THEIR movies, but not The Meaning of Life, it means you have seen TWO of their movies :)

They actually just released three feature films, Life of Brian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Monty Python’s Meaning of Life. On top of that there is obviously the TV Series, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, as well as a live performance (Live at the Hollywood Bowl) and a compilation (and now for something completely different) from the TV Series.

I’m a huge fan, always been. Now get a hold of everything Python you can find, lock yourself up for a week or so and then dedicate your entire devotion to it. It deserves it.

@Malcolm: I’m afraid you have gravely slandered me and I expect an apology. Did you not know that there are sites where one can download movies legally and against payment? I am not in the habit of ripping off anything. As for Monty Python, I have seen most of his movies except, probably, the one in question. As for class, that’s for me to decide. You are too rash, my friend.. grow up and mature before you rush to make comments like this.

thanks for that clip, at least now I can laugh at my son’s expression ‘il-liba’ which he and his friends use to punctuate every sentence they utter. It bugs me, but now maybe I’ll think of this piece and laugh at myself.

Well freethinker it’s a bit late in the day to discover Monty Python but better late than never I suppose. You might want to be a bit more discreet about ripping off movies from the internet though. It’s illegal (which is tolerable) and hardly an indicator of class (which is unforgivable).

[Daphne – Round where I live, there was an entire system dedicated to downloading films. It’s hardly a class matter.]

I must find this movie to watch. Every sperm is sacred…. so that’s why the Lenten preacher at school used to scare us into believing that those dreadful, unspeakable habits could lead to blindness and a crooked back…. who would’ve known then?

[Daphne – Oh, please don’t tell me you didn’t know! You seem pretty strong on logic, and that’s the logical extension of the argument that holds we should count the days of our existence right back to the moment of conception. So why count only to the fused bits, and not even further back, to the coming into existence of each of the bits that fused? You can go on forever.]
