Mario - it is also unfair that we, the household consumers have to pay for others. I quite understand that eventually the water and electricity rates have to go up due to the price of oil and current world situation. However, I would like someone to answer the following questions please:
1. Is something being done or going to be done regarding the inefficiences, over-staffing, etc. at Enemalta ?
2. Why is it OK for Enemalta not to present audited accounts but private companies are bound to do so?
3. What about the stealing of electricity, tampering with water meters, by certain individuals, etc. ?
4. An idea could be that Enemalta changes and instals the type of water meters where one can just insert a prepaid card which one could eventually top up thereby paying immediately for the electricity rates (I do not know whether this can be done in the case of water consumption). Enemalta would in this way have money readily on hand and there would be better control.
