These votes were not from the people of Zimbabwe. True: being an MEP no one can vote for you in the local general election. Also true: Alfred Sant got more first count votes than Lawrence Gonzi.

[Daphne – The fact remains that Muscat got into parliament by begging a seat of Manwel Cuschieri’s brother and he doesn’t have a single constituent’s vote to his name. “Alfred Sant got more first count votes than Lawrence Gonzi”: that’s probably because there was a better choice of candidates on the PN ticket, and Sant was the ‘best’ of the bunch. It might also have something to do with the ‘ejja ha nivvutaw il-lider’ mentality of certain Labour supporters, but I won’t go into that now. As we know through direct experience, it’s not a reflection on his skills, talents and brilliant leadership.]

He is just doing what a good leader must do. Not being elected has nothing to do with it, anzi, he’s proving that the MP’s elected are not well representing their voters and are sitting pretty doing nothing! Not all, because JPO, the one you voted for, is doing something….

[Daphne – Here we go again. Pullicino Orlando was elected on the Nationalist ticket, and those who voted for him expect him to remember that. If we had wanted to vote for a Labour, AN or AD candidate, we would have done so.]
