Baron Ironblood, I read your article in The Malta Independent. What you’re saying, essentially, is that you’re not a racist but you don’t want Africans to come to Malta. “However, even if we had the money, space and all the rest, I would still be against the influx of these people/s. This has nothing to do with racism or anything of the sort.”

And the conclusion:

“If one had to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, Africa is theirs, but Europe, and Malta in particular, is ours. I believe we should keep it so, and while all the above might not seem “politically correct”, to me it sounds very correct indeed!”

Let’s say that by the end of this century Malta has it first prime minister of African origin (though I think we’ll see an Afro-archbishop first due to the decline in vocations among the Maltese). As long as the person is honest, intelligent and competent, so what? I have more respect for someone who goes around wearing a T-shirt with the words “I hate niggers” than someone who says “I’m not a racist but …”.

Do you have access to a specific xenophobe myspace site?
I’ve never been asked for my race/ethnics when I was creating a user profile. Nationality suffices.

To Baron Ironblood: Would I be correct to say that you support Norman Lowell both because you are in favour of his right of expression but also because you endorse his silly fantasies? Just asking.

I must say that I am all in favour that Norman Lowell be allowed to hold forth as much as he likes. Indeed I think that attempts to shut him up are crass, primitive and counter productive. Having said that, I will never support him or call him ‘my leader.’

Norman Lowell is trying to cultivate the image of a persecuted political idealist on some high intellectual plane. If you listen to what he says and read what he writes, as I have done, you will quickly find out that the man is nothing more than a deluded bungler with scant grip of historical and scientific facts. In my opinion he is gulity of one ‘sin’ that is all too common in the Maltese society we live in, it is the sin of mediocrity.

“WHILE neo-Nazi Norman Lowell was hosting a barbeque for his right-wing supporters at Dwejra, a kilometre and a half away from Bidnija, arsonists attempted to burn down the private residence of Daphne Caruana Galizia. This is the second attack on the Caruana Galizia residence, the first having taken place in 1994.
The arson attack happened in the early hours of Saturday when Caruana Galizia and her family were sleeping inside the house. Nobody was injured in the incident, described by one of the investigating officers as a ‘military style’ operation.
Lowell posted a message on the Viva Malta web site at 4am. Some time later another Lowell follower wrote: “Yes, indeed I have drunk to the dregs and toasted the heroes in my own incorrigible way.”
