And if their friend is in a high enough position, he will see to it to get rid of the locals and install the friend instead – at foreign salary levels of course – and all in the name of cost-cutting. Seen it happen more than once.

Yes, but not in the Eurozone. Traditional England. First they opted to stay out of the EU but had to bite the bullet and joined later (at a price…of course) under Ted Heath. Now they’re at it again…keeping out of the Eurozone and hanging on to their Sterling which is now worth almost nothing. Maybe this time they’ll learn – who knows?

I notice people giving up their flats and selling their cars. They quit insurances and don’t pay their electricity bills anymore. I read in a German newspaper, customers are buying ‘more potatoes and carrots’, to save money on food. Two of my ex-colleagues are homeless now. Modern times.
