What song are you playing, Edward? "Run rabbit, run", maybe? Labour's "victory" is also AD's loss, though it looks like you're pretty keen on cutting off your nose to spite your face. And all this while you're living in the UK when you were so anti-EU in the first place. Amazing grace!

Dr Muscat said that the message that the Labour Party had sent out to the Maltese and Gozitan people urging them to form part of the new political movement was welcomed, and that it had won the absolute majority in the EP Parliament elections.

Dr Muscat said how this movement was made up of a coalition of people which come from all walks of life and of all social classes, across political boundaries which united the whole of the Maltese and Gozitan peoples.

This coalition, Dr Muscat said, is a sign that this is the end of partisan politics, “the end of blue and red distinctions.”

“This is not the point of arrival for this political movement. It is only the point of departure,” Dr Muscat stressed.

Dr Muscat however also stressed that this is also the moment for all to act with civility and composure.

“The party will not tolerate any one breaking the law, or shelter or support any who do.” He added that the labour party is against violence, also urging caution against any provocation.

The Labour Party also announced that there will be celebrations held outside of the national Labour HQ at Hamrun at (1900hrs) 7 pm.

The General Secretary of the Nationalist Party Paul Borg Olivier also confirmed the result.

Seen on euronews :
percentage of voters in Malta 80%, Slovakia 18%, France 15%......

Right I'm off to watch something more important on TV. Hopefully Roger Federer finally winning Roland Garros! (worth more exclamation marks if he does win).

55% for PL... if we consider the 6th seat, with all probability it will go to PL. That will make it 4-2 not 3-2.

[Daphne - Going on the sample, Labour got 56% of the vote and the Nationalists got just under 42%. On this basis, the sixth seat is likely to go to a Nationalist MEP.]

Have been watching the discussion on Net TV. Frustrated by all the talk that if Labour get 3 seats, then Muscat hasn't won anything. Until Georg Sapiano joined the discussion and poured some cold water. How refreshing to see somebody within the PN camp with his feet on the ground. Dr Gonzi should dump most of his advisers and get a couple of Georg Sapianos.

yes, despite all your rantings we will have 3 PL, 2PN. We could have had 2/2/1; but you and the Nats prefer Labour to AD!

[Daphne - I don't get your drift, sorry. I make no distinction between Labour and AD: the grouping is MLPAD as far as I'm concerned, and as far as you're concerned, too.]
