Is this the same person who just 21 weeks ago (during the European Parliament election campaign) manipulated Alex Perici Calascione's meeting with the hunters and 'welcomed' in the most distasteful manner an ex PN parliamentarian who was in particular condition?

Incredible that he isn't ashamed of himself.

It must have been a busy day for Dr. Muscat today. He was invited to deliver a speech at a conference on financial services, right before the Prime Minister himself wrapped up the conference.

For starters, Dr. Muscat sauntered in late, with the usual annoyingly defiant smirk. When he was asked to address the audience, he assumed that belligerent facial expression we have grown accustomed to (you know the look; nostrils flaring, eyes bulging, jaw jutting out, cheeks on fire). He then proceeded to deliver an utterly uninspiring rant, spelling out doom and gloom for financial services in Malta and implicitly accusing the Prime Minister of failing the sector. The speech had been prepared by someone who does not appear to be particularly au fait with financial services. He stumbled through the thing and it became increasingly apparent that he had not prepared himself. The Prime Minister, in the meantime, followed the proceedings with a bemused expression. Everyone else was clearly unimpressed, especially, I got the feeling, the foreign speakers who were present.

Then it was the Prime Minister's turn. The mood suddenly shifted, as if there was a collective sigh of relief. The Prime Minister was well prepared, delivered his speech in a coherent and straightforward manner and was engaging throughout.

I found myself wondering how on earth the Maltese population could possibly choose Dr. Muscat over Dr. Gonzi to lead the country.

[Daphne - Pinch your nostrils and repeat after me with a whining sound: 'Because we need a chaaaaannnnngggeee.']

If nothing else, Joseph Muscat has gall. Plenty of it. The Tumas Fenech Foundation is part of the Tumas Group, the chairman of which is George Fenech, framed by Muscat in an artificially-created pseudo-scandal.

As we all know, Joseph Muscat ganged up with Saviour Balzan, that other prime specimen of ethical journalism, to throw mud at the Finance Minister and, by association, at George Fenech. Mere days later Muscat goes to George Fenech’s home, as it were, and, without the slightest hint of self-consciousness, without a shadow of a shred of shame, has the nerve to pontificate on press ethics and “a better reality for society”.

A few hecklers would have been in order.

Kurt Sansone failed to ask the most obvious question. If he didn't invite the minister along for business networking, then why did he invite Tonio Fenech and not some jollier company? Because he's a thrill a minute and his conversation is enthralling? Come on. Stay away from that shovel, boys.

No, Daphne, he is not joking. He is just a 'progressive', in the sense that what he says a minute ago is not necessarily what he thinks or will do the minute after - maybe the 'second' is a more appropriate time scale.

His gibberish constantly reminds me of the infamous pub sign "free drinks tomorrow".
