We used to make fun of people we’d see downtown all sporting their foolishly expensive scarves that all look the same & make them look like mindless sheep. It reminds me of the many fools who spend hundreds of dollars on Jordan gym shoes that were probably made for four dollars. It has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with the brand name. Some people actually believe it to be a status symbol that means they are “high class.” I guess high class is not being able to think for yourself…

I’ve asked my friends in the U.S. – those who like checks will wear them, whether in the Burberry plaid or not.

And those who dislike checks just ignore them. None of my U.S. friends have ever heard of the Burberry/chav association. Other people I know from Ireland, England etc would not want to be seen dead in Burberry plaid, though.
