It seems you’ve become a regular here. That’s one in the eye for those who think everyone here is related to Daphne.

You might like to read the article written by by George Weigel in Newsweek of the 3rd of April 2010 which shows how the horrendous crime of paedophilia is a global plague rampant in many secular institutions and , most frighteningly of all, even within what should be the safest place on earth- the family home. Paedophilia is most certainly NOT a predominantly Catholic problem as it is being made out to be most unjustly by the media.

But of course attack is the better form of defence and the secular world has long promoted a culture of anything goes in the sexual order : sex before eight before it`s too late, how one shouldn`t repress one`s natural feelings and instincts ; how evil and oppressive the Church is in its teachings on sexuality ; how man`s innate nature is essentially no different from that of a baboon and so on and so forth.

Now various exponents of these theories are hypocritically throwing up their hands in mock horror because a few priests and religious – a minuscule minority – have brought disgrace and shame upon themselves precisely because they preferred to follow the ways of the world rather than the age –old sound and sane teachings of the Church.

I suppose had these priests and religious been a Michael Jackson or a Roman Polanski or a Gary Glitter, these same exponents would have been bending over backwards to excuse them- if not outright condoning them – and oh by the way, no doubt about it, would have been accusing the Catholic Church of outdated, intolerant and oppressive teachings .

If you’re referring to what the Catholic Church donates in cash – assuming that it donates a billion euros every year, .00001% of 1 billion is a 100 Euro.

I guess most of us do donate a 100 euro annually in some way or another. You’re gonna have to take all the criticism, mate (or get your maths right).
