I happen to be a man from Zurrieq and thank God Marlene Pullicino is not an honorary president of our band club. I saw her once speaking on Xarabank about festi and she did the festa lovers no favour at all. She knows very little about festi and the organisation behind them.

I wonder why she is doing all this. She certainly does not represent me on this issue. I love my hometown parish feast, but I do not want these people to use the festa argument as a marketing tool for their electoral campaign, especially in the fifth district.

I was under the impression that ic-Caqnu was vilified as a baruni or habib tal-hbieb in the past and anything that had to do with him inevitably meant that the government was corrupt. Since when is he a friend of Labour?

I read your articles backwards, Daphne so this article links with the next one i.e. Super one taking advertising for the power station from the government. That is one of the things that sets the two parties apart: one tries to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds and the other at least knows when it’s better to run with one and not the other.

I have no idea what an Honorary President of a festa/band club does but whatever it is can’t be too demanding: Marlene Pullicino Orlando is president of no less than four such clubs. And Godfrey Farrugia another two.

The press release said: “there will be free food and drink and this will bring together all those who have Maltese traditions at heart.” They make it sound as if free food and drink are a Maltese tradition. Maybe they are.
