In reply to Paul Bonnici. Ok. Paul Bonnici gave me the answer I was looking for. [Daphne - You're quite wrong, and so is he. They were all born on Comino. The island had a sizeable population of around 100 people until the mid-20th century.]

When the British forces pulled out of Malta, the barracks which they occupied were handed to staunch Labour supporters by Mintoff, including the army quarters on Comino.
