When the Saipem rig was attacked by Libyan gunboats, Mintoff panicked and ordered our patrol boats to the area.

The Libyan officers manning the latter refused.

Someone needs to get started on digging up all the documents regarding the Labour Party’s relations with Gaddafi.

That would be a whole lot more interesting.

The documentation concerning Gaddafi’s first loan to Mintoff was never in the public domain – the loan was made to Mintoff as an individual, against his signature, as reported here:

If they go back even just a short time there could be some very interesting names, liaisons and maybe bank account records turning up.
