I know that there is a whole new generation of voters who know nothing about the 1971 – 1987 Labour governments and the way they rode roughshod over all opposition; these new voters only know life under Nationalist governments and cannot even be bothered to find out what life was like pre – 1987. Or even in 1996-1998.

Now there is a campaign from the PL to whitewash, rewrite and airbrush history; apart from this blog’s efforts to show how it really was, I have not seen anybody else doing the same.

I am leaving out Nazzjon, Mument and Net because the majority of their readers and viewers are already converted.

As for our historians, I have given up on them long ago.

But what really depresses me are those voters who know all about the pre-1987 era and had voted Nationalist until now but still are willing to vote Labour just to try them out or out of spite, as if voting for a new government is trying on a new suit or pair of shoes.

No, Edgar, he has redeemed himself and has unofficially promised to attract manufacturing investment from the manufacturers of GPS systems. He is also working to make map reading and navigation a compulsory credit for architects.

One thing is certain – This list will ruffle some feathers now and generate a tsunami post election.

If it weren’t bitterly sad for Malta it may be fun!
