What JPO does not realize (enforcing the view that he has flipped) is that his antics are also being noted by the Labour Party.

Jeff’s situation is that he has completely destroyed his credibility and has obviously become totally untrustworthy to his own party.

What guarantee can he offer the LP once he jumps into the skip?

What will the LP offer him in exchange? A ministry if they are elected? Can the LP afford to hang yet another millstone around its neck going into next election?

If JPO operates the same way at his office while pulling teeth, one can imagine the pain he inflicts on his patients like he is inflicting on himself within the political circles by his illogical behaviour.

Fine, he set the ball rolling on a civil right, now what? Does he intend to spend the next eighteen months playing with his Facebook page? Government’s success in developing the nation depends, in the council’s remit, to a considerable degree, on the signals it sends to the stakeholders, both local and foreign.

If he threw his weight around regarding research and development as much as he did with divorce, the sector would respond accordingly. His gratuitious behaviour is extremely damaging, and given the investment aspect, carries ramifications which cannot be underestimated.

The first reality check, an urgent one, is his performance in such a role. People are starting to ask why he’s allowed to remain in that position. The sector in question is unforgiving in its timing. Being late means missing patents, losing out on funding and giving the impression that the field in question is not a priority after all. Tell that to foreign venture capitalists and risk managers shopping around. Focus is key here.

Given that he accepted the position, the onus to explain rests solely with him

As far as the PN is concerned he is a has-been.

He cannot cause more damage to the party then he did on the eve of the last general elections.

His behaviour is showing him up for what he is.

I agree that the party should stay aloof and see him off to the PL skip.
