Some time ago, there was an idea floating around that Old Dom got his Rhodes Scholarship because the British wanted him out of Malta and wanted him to be kept under control in England.

This could be true or it could be a far-fetched political myth. .But with a very fine politcal mind, the British could have actually hatched this plan – who knows?
