Obama made his short and long versions public when he was accused that he was not borne in America.
Muscat should do the same. He should publish the certificate and details of his degree.

You might find academics at the university ‘faking’ their qualifications, let alone the dubious academic merit of some people awarded doctorates by the University of Malta as qualifiers for employment at the same university.

The proof is in discussion papers that are highly critical of papers published by these ‘academics’ from Malta.

I think Richard is referring to the comment made by David Meilak above. I think he’s right in saying the Fenech Adami used the phrase “gvern immexxi minni” when he was already PM, and not when he was Leader of Opposition.

[Daphne – Yes, that’s right. He used the expression when he was prime minister. When he was leader of the Opposition, he had far more serious things to be getting on with.]

Muscat is digging up and copying all the old PN catchphrases, probably because he thinks they were what kept the PN in government for more than 20 years.

“Is-Sewwa jirbaħ żgur” was one such slogan, as are Muscat’s claim that he has faith in Malta and his urging people to have courage.

I have to say this recycling of old PN slogans is slightly offensive. The phrases and concepts belong to the civil resistance movement during the grim years of the Mintoff-KMB regime and Muscat is trivialising them into a parody.

Incidentally, to go back to real and fictitious qualifications, Muscat’s biography in the parliamentary website says he holds a “Ph.D in Management Research” while his own website is now claiming he has a “Dottorat fl-Ekonomija u Ricerka Manigerjali”.

This is an important detail not because of the degree as such but because Muscat seems to be faking his qualifications, as regards economics, which doesn’t do much to enhance his credibility.
