He has a Master of Arts in European Studies (University of Malta) and a Ph.D in Management Research from the University of Bristol.

Joseph Muscat worked as a journalist and as an editor from 1992 to 2004; with a break in his journalist career in 1998-1999 when he became market intelligence manager for the Institute for the Promotion of Small Enterprises, right in the backyard of the Super One complex in Marsa.

He not only wants us to call him doctor but to consider him as a doctor of economics. He’s full of himself.

Let’s compare the essentials.

He has a Master of Arts in Public Administration (Sheffield) and a Ph.D in Political Science (Manchester).

He owned and ran his restaurants both in Malta and in the UK while studying:

This unpretentious bloke doesn’t flaunt his 'Doctor' in his articles even when he writes about his main area of study :

'Market Intelligence Manager for IPSE in 1998-1999', definitely not a blue eyed boy then.

How convenient, having ONE just behind the office, with Vella Bonnici as boss.

I still remember one investor's comment; 'non sembrano cosi' entusiasti del lavoro che fanno, come mai?'

He called me later that same afternoon, from his hotel, quite fazed at having been asked for a meeting without me.

Lawrence Gonzi asked one question to Joseph's contacts within ministries and departments last Sunday, it seems old habits die hard.

I have another one, what did he mean when he said he won't waste investors time with projects deemed non-starters? Who, according to him, is responsible for their projects' feasibility?

Very business friendly.

Isn't it sad that we might soon have a PM who has never really worked in his life, but yet is expected to come up with policies for our businesses, industries etc?

Add to that the fact that he never had to trouble-shoot work-place problems and solve people issues and I can imagine the resulting Labour government.
