Have you noticed the advert, no red, no mention of PL, trying to attract people to this activity - then you find Joseph inaugurating the show?

I have a felling that disgruntled PN voters have started smiling again.

Come on, Gonzi and Co - try and avoid auto-goals and continue concentrating on important matters. The fourth electoral victory in a row (a Maltese record) might still be possible.

Daphne, the PN are updating their policies. Interesting thoughts and ideas. But why then publish a document which has a gross spelling mistake on its front page. "Apporvat" is more Jason Micallef than the PN. Am saddened by this lack of attention.

At last I found someone who put into words my feelings:

Joseph Vassallo, (Bugibba)
@ John Schembri: "...and Joseph and Co will take it."

Of course they will take their raise and rightly so too.

I agree they ALL deserve to be paid according to their status. They are governing an annual budget of two billion Euros, for heaven's sake. Is it sensible to pay peanuts for that? Good pay promotes honesty. Poor pay promotes corruption.

Do our elected representatives get a regular day off, even if some of their work is for the party rather than for government or constituents? How does their reward compare with an MEP's €85k plus €220k assistants' allowance plus nearly €300k of undocumented expenses?

Those who begrudge this stipend should contest the elections and get themselves elected, if they feel qualified or competent. After all, if Staller got herself elected, everything is possible. Once elected, they can decide whether to forego the enhanced honorarium and spend seven days a week traipsing around the island on government or party appearances apart from their normal administrative duties. !!!

BUT... I do not agree with the continued practice of their profession when being paid a worthwhile honorarium. In some cases, this can appear to be in conflict with some duties and cause lack of transparency.

Front-benchers from both sides of the house should be full-time politicians and so should their assistants.

Backbenchers can keep their day job if they choose to do so.

While Malta is enjoying the confidence of both foreign and local investors and foreign owned companies are expanding their facilities and hiring more workers, the Labour Party is organizing a 'Quality Malta' fair and asking companies for a fee of between euro 750 and euro 6000 depending on which package they choose to pick up!

It is (unofficially) reported that:

Package 1, (e750) consists of the mobile phone number of the ' tink-tank'.
Package 2, (e1250) consists of Pkg 1 plus the phone number Toni Abela.
Package 3 (e2000) consists of pkgs 1 & 2 plus ic-Caqnu's phone number.
Package 4 (e3000) consists of pkgs 1 to 3 plus Insp 'Tuks Fors', Anglu Farrugia's mobile number.
Package 5 (e4500) consists of pkgs 1 to 4 plus Joseph's telephone number and lastly,
Package 6 (e6000) consists of pkgs 1 to 5 plus a hemberger with Joseph (look mummy at my thinning hair) at MacDonalds ta San Giljan.

What these business people do not realize is that they will be paying for these 'packages' supposedly designed to help them promote 'Quality Malta' when these businesses have been doing it so successfully for much longer than Joseph had been running the 'No2EU' campaign and without the Labour Party's help and hindsight.

They will probably be giving Joseph some ideas, free of charge, of course, and for which Joseph will immediately claim credit for.

What a bunch of losers. We knew that the LP's finances were in dire straits, but to charge business people who the LP claims are starving is downright crass and dishonest.

Well, Joseph has to build the 'gallarija' at the Mile End and since Gaddafi's dinari have stopped coming, he has to raise the money somehow.
