So what AST is essentially saying is that it didn’t matter that millions of Libyans were being ruled by a mad and sadistic tyrant and that the whole region was destablised because of him, as long as poor Malta could get cheap oil by sucking up to him! Is this what Labour’s “realpolitik” amounts to?

China’s aggressively building its interests in north Africa, opposes any trade legislation with the EU and is investing heavily in coal based technology to power itself.

Mintoff’s foreign policy was always one of reducing us to a satellite state. Alex calls it the Mintoff method.

Not to mention what jobs they have in mind, where the living wage concept could lead and what due importance will be given to European standards of health and safety, product quality, work practices, R&D intellectual property and so on.

No wonder Joseph can’t talk.
