It’s revolting to see that red sweat-shirt on a man his age. It’s even more revolting to see that red bandana/shawl or whatever it is tied around a black bag. X’ hamallagni.

So, let’s see. What is he expecting to get? I daresay some ministry linked with justice. But where does that leave Jose and Anglu, two veterans of the PL? OK, so we have three candidates but one job.

Even though I have to say, this morning Manuel Mallia made quite a show of flattering and praising Anthony Zammit, Alfred Sant’s learned surgeon.

Now, Mallia being the man that he is, couldn’t have heaped such praise on Zammit gratuitously so I cannot help but wonder what’s in it for him.

What about then Jason Micallef’s klikka? He will surely expect to head PBS or some other broadcasting position.

Gino Cauchi is clearly expecting something: he said so himself – he said that (and I quote because I was utterly shocked to hear him say it now that they’re still very much in opposition) the young and new candidates shouldn’t expect to get something whilst the old ones “jibqghu barra”.

So, Gino Cauchi and, no doubt, many others like him, see two types of candidates: those who have been there through thick and thin and those who are new and jumping on the bandwagon.

There is the Sandro Chetcuti klikka who, I overheard in a cafe’ recently in Valletta (not one to speak discreetly now, is he) is rubbing his hands in glee at the prospect of that *multiple swear and insolent words* Gonzi jitlef il-Gvern.

There is the “dinosaur klikka”, Karmenu Vella, AST, and their fellow merry men who are clearly gloating over the current impasse and openly licking their lips at the buffet which will shortly be opened by the royal couple (i.e. the Muscats).

I wonder how many others fellow followers of this blog can come up with.

How noble of him to join Labour to help steer it away from the same fate.

I suppose the delegati were thrilled.
