I don’t believe for a minute that a genuine floating voter, following the antics of the Labour Party, will actually support them in an election.

We automatically assume that in a poll, the ones who say that they do not know who they will be voting for, are actually ‘floaters’.

Many a time, responding to a political survey, one tends to keep the information to himself, as I do, since casting a vote is personal, my business and my business only and no jerk from some polling company is going to pry the information from me.

What if the information goes straight to a Party who I have no desire to hear from, let alone vote for?

Those ‘floaters’ who claim that they changed their mind and will vote for Joey belonged to Labour to begin with. They never floated and never will.

So, yes, Joe Grima will mesmerize the semi-literate, the guppies, the naive who already populate Labour’s ‘for sure’ list but cannot possibly sway any vote towards Labour from genuine ‘floaters’.

When a poll shows 30-35% as ‘undecided’ it is probable that most already belong to a particular party but will not tell. In Malta, where such a contrast exists between the two major parties, very few will find it hard to decide. It’s not that policy-wise one party has a microscopic edge over the other.

In Malta we have consistently voted for a Party which spells clearly what direction they will take, while the other ‘keeps the cards close to its chest’ until the eve of the election. Which one would a sane person vote for? I don’t like to underestimate the intelligence of the majority, however slim that may be.

She may have expressed her opinion of the sight of pushy kwazi-primministri and their acolytes using even one’s own young children to gain some photo-opportunities and political mileage, but I do not think that qualifies as insulting the children.

The people who follow this blog, Daphne, know you would never speak ill of politicians’ children even if those politicians would gladly speak ill and fabricate lies about your own.

Let’s not discriminate against women.

None of them had guts to mention the truly evil, stomach-churning blog run anonymously by people linked to the Labour Party, who have to remain anonymous exactly because they slander and lie about people relentlessly.
