Did you hear about the 8 trillion dollar “credit-swap” the Fed did with the ECB and European banks around 2009? Of course not. Yet it emerged after a (rare) congressional bill forced the Fed to submit an audit of TARP (that’s the “$760 bln” bailout of 2008). Those 760 bln mushroomed to 16 trillion of monetised money. That bill that exposed the secret was proposed by Ron Paul.

Let me cut it short and give you something to laugh about. The ECB is not allowed to lend money to governments, so it lends cheaply (1%) to banks and they in turn lend it to governments (through bond buying) at loan-shark rates. The ECB does not monetise (that’s another word for ‘creating money out of thin air’) so the cartel creates the money at the Federal Reserve, swaps it for toxic assets, and voila, we’ve got cash – cheap loans for the cartel’s banks and perpetual interest for the slave nations.

When you get around that snippet, come back for more laughs. If not, just get hooked on botox. It worked for Daphne.

As far as I know back in January the PN reluctantly stopped taking their honoraria increases. That was when they realized that an election could be round the corner.You do follow the news don’t you, or are you better informed than us mere mortals, and know that they are still getting them since the budget bill has not passed yet. It seems both Daphne and you are not so up to date with news, since she didn’t know that Jeffrey and Marlene have been divorced for quite a while.

Jeffrey’s finest hour was when he ponced around in that TV studio in the role of a journalist – flashing his press card issued by the Nationalist Party to prove it. You forgot this part of his CV.

[Daphne – I am totally opposed to state-issued press cards and refuse to hold one. Press cards in Malta are issued by the state through the Department of Information. This means that they are a form of state licence, even if no press accreditation is actually refused. Press cards should be issued by a journalist’s employers, because the only reason one is required is to prove that the journalist actually does work for that organisation. Since everybody knows what I do for a living, my argument is that a press card is, in my case at least, utterly redundant. I recall, less than fondly, having a massive argument with some door-harridan at the prime minister’s office some years ago, when she demanded my press card to allow me into a press conference, while addressing me by name. The press card is there to prove I work for the press, I argued, and not to give me permission to enter. And so it’s back to the same thing: the press card in Malta, because it is issued by the state, has become a licence for entry to this and that, and if you don’t have one, you’re kept out even if the people keeping you out know for a fact that you’re a journalist. It’s the same difference with that business with Jeffrey: he had a press card from the DOI, but what he should have had was a press card from a media organisation. Press cards issued by the state are intrinsically and fundamentally wrong. The arguments against state-licensing of journalists through a formal warrant apply also to state press cards.]
