Where else than the Mgarr housing estate. It was built by Mintoff in the 70s on a piece of what was once a barren piece of land outside the village.

He gave every single house to a Labourite family from the south forming the first ever Labourite community in Mgarr.

My mum says that she remembers how culturally different these ‘new’ people were.

She says that they expected the government to give them everything and she could never understand that concept. Till this very day, the people who live there don’t seem to fit in the Mgarr community.

Why bother wasting an evening listening to Joseph Muscat, when yesterday during his meeting at the university he bluntly said that for his proposals to bear fruit we have to wait from 10 to 15 years?

My letterbox is already being filled daily with candidates’ flyers. I have noticed that all the PL candidates have no mention of PL or the logo anywhere on the flyer, many with the now “de rigeur” blue background.

I wonder how many old people are being sucked in, not realising which party the candidate is representing. After all, a lot of the older generations go by the photo on the wall of the voting room, rather than the name of the candidate?
