Her pronounciation gave her away as somebody who hasn’t lived in Malta, but I wondered what happened to her father’s “karta tal-incova” argument.

She promised a carrot for the students: higher stipends!

She ended with her father’s trademark “Malta l-ewwel u qabel kollox”.
