Magistrate Mizzi holds steadfastly to the two posts which the Chief Justice has declared, clearly and unequivocally, unacceptable behaviour. And yet he does not resign from either.

I have to object to what is being said here about St Joseph, Blata l-Bajda. That was my old school from 1963 to 1974.

When I was there, they had a very strict policy that we were only allowed to speak English during school time. If you didn’t, you got into trouble.

We too had some excellent English-language teachers. Actually, we had some very good teachers in our other subjects as well. I believe most of us who graduated within that timeframe left with a well- rounded education.

A large number of us went on to university, which was unusual in those days as most girls were not encouraged to go on for tertiary education.

I found that I got on very well, both in sixth form and university, with girls who had attended St Dorothy’s, and I have friends that I keep in touch with to this day.

It was girls from Sacred Heart, who I couldn’t stand. I found the vast majority of them to be pretentious, snobby and downright annoying.
