This is the epitome of warped thinking. I know this sounds tongue in cheek but why, pray, should a Laburist not be as kapaci as much as a Nazzjonalist?

This phrase does more harm than good because it openly admits that Labourites perceive themselves as being inferior to Nationalists. Funny thing is that most probably, if they are indeed inferior, it is their way of viewing life in general – and hence also their being Labourite – which makes them “inqas kapaci minn kull Nazzjonalist iehor”.

It is their own way of viewing things and life in general (bil-lanzit, ghira, axes to grind, chip on their shoulders, I-do-not-want-to-work-but-want-to-received-“lerief”-cheque mentality that they become less kapaci. They, through their own attitudes, are their own (and only) worst enemies.

Then why was he harping away about a Gvern tal-Laburisti?

This kind of thinking has taken a firm grip on the whole party and they are now set about in copying the Nationalist Paarty’s image to make themselves feel more worthy and credible.

On the other hand, most Nationalists think they’re a bunch of losers for even thinking and acting in that way.

They should be proud of their party and of the way they are, that is, a bunch of freaks rendered electable by other freaks.

The inferiority complex of Labour goes way back. The main reason for this inferiority complex is Dom Mintoff with his famous ‘us’ (the poor) v ‘them’ (the elite) speeches.
