Hamburger Joe’s Ph.D. Dissertation was entitled:
“Fordism, multinationals and SMEs in the periphery: the case of microstate Malta 1964-2004”

The listed abstract on the British Library website is the following:

“This study focuses on the rise and fall of an SME support organisation in the context of dependent development characterised by a dual-economy: on the one hand, a dominant modern sector composed almost entirely of export-oriented subsidiaries of transnational groups and, on the other, a traditional sector, made up largely of microenterprises catering for the local market.”

Have still to find how this has metamorphosed into economy and thus find the source of Lino’s assertion. The strength of a Ph.D. is usually assessed on the number and quality of publications derived from it. Interestingly, I could find none under Joseph Muscat.

In reply to David S. Why are you questioning Josef's Ph.D.? Anyone with excellent Form 2 results from St Aloysius College can finish a Ph.D. in 3 years flat while at the same time holding a full time job as a MEP.
