A simple Google search will tell you that he is promising to shrink the federal government, lower taxes, create jobs by promoting trade and free enterprise, repeal Obamacare, reform healthcare through the private sector, strengthen the military. Digging further one will also find more specific proposals

Muscat is in nowhere to be seen on how he intends improving the mitel clas. Can you see him suggesting the Malta equivalent to repeal Obamacare.

1) Was he ever a member of parliament shadowing some ministry? Joseph Muscat wasn’t; Lawrence Gonzi was.

2) Was he ever a minister? Joseph Muscat wasn’t; Lawrence Gonzi was.

3) Was he ever a deputy Prime Minister? Joseph Muscat wasn’t; Lawrence Gonzi was. And Gonzi was also the party secretary-general.

4) Did he ever have any say in the high echelons of a big privately run business organisation? Muscat did not; Lawrence Gonzi was company secretary for more than 15 years to Mizzi Organisation.

5) Apart from politics did he ever hold any post, or actively participate in, some voluntary organisation? Muscat: L-Ghaqda tal-Festa ta’ Burmarrad and L-Ghaqda ghall-Indipendenza ta’ Burmarrad minn San Pawl il-Bahar. Lawrence Gonzi: President of Catholic Action Movement for several years and President of the Commission for Persons with Disabilities for several years.

6) Was he ever a Speaker of the House? Muscat was not; Gonzi was Speaker for nine years.

7) In what sports activities does he participate ? Muscat does not sport. Gonzi played football when he was that age.

8) Any hobbies? Muscat: cars. Gonzi: fishing and building computers.

9) Who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth? Muscat, but certainly not Gonzi.

So who would you prefer to make prime minister – somebody who climbed the political ladder gradually to be prime minister or someone whose only experience in the private sector is as a clerk trying to mis-sell you some financial product which does not fit your needs?
