Yesterday I watched the TVM programme commemorating its 50 years of broadcasting.

They interviewed non-Socialist broadcasters/TV producers who were sacked from Xandir Malta by Wistin Abela – depriving them of their livelihood, as there were no other TV / radio stations to work for.

MauriceTanti Burlo (The Sunday Times/The Times cartoonist Nalizpelra) was among them. He was transferred to work in the TeleMalta garage.

Another milestone was the commencement of transmission in colour. The only “hiccup ” was one had to pay backhanders to the Socialist inner core to get a colour TV – or a MINISTERIAL recommendation to jump the wait list to buy one.

I trust Dr Fenech Adami watched this documentary to help him jog his memory as to the great things Dom Mintoff did.

Was it not Dr Fenech Adami who coined the term ‘korruzjoni istituzjonalizata’?

The redeeming factor was Joe Grima acknowledging the fact that TVM has become the best TV station, ever since Anton Attard took over. Now we wait and see how Joseph Muscat will get rid of him.

I think that Muscat knows that every time he or his minions open their mouth they put a foot in it, so they’re trying to keep the foot tasting to a minimum.

Joseph also tried his hand at some economics this morning.

Joseph blamed the PM for half the country’s debt since independence, ignoring the minor detail of Malta’s growth in real terms since 2004. (listing all prime ministers, first time I ever heard him mention Alfred Sant by name)

Barely five minutes later he accused Simon Busuttil of scaremongering rebutting that a bailout wouldn’t be plausible given that the country’s debt is in the hands of the Maltese themselves.

How’s that for a triple somersault? Muscatova for the next Olympics.

Joseph solemnly declared this morning he’ll be the one to vouch for ex-nationalists who intend to vote for his movement. He promised this to remove any doubt any doubt they might have to being believed they actually did. Vote for his movement ie.

What exactly is he saying? That once elected, political colour, favours and Labour insiders controlling everything will be the order of the day?

I’ve yet to come across someone who manages to dress up something as base and vulgar as this as some noble act.
