Firstly, religious world-views are most certainly a matter of choice, no matter how intense the indoctrination. You might as well defend indoctrinated young neo-Mintoffiani because they didn’t have a choice either. Or are you simply trying to butter-up the higher echelons of the PN by suggesting that religion gets a free pass when drawing-up legislation (divorce, IVF, civil partnerships, morning-after pills, etc)? Secondly, I was born with a very high-pitched voice (i.e. through no choice of my own). I am extremely self-conscious about it. Would pointing out that I have a “squeaky” voice, in an insulting way, be classed as hate speech by your definition?
