Hi Daphne, can you enlighten me as to what a ‘breach of privilege complaint’ is, I was under the impression that you can only breach parliamentary privilege if you are actually within the building itself whilst parliament is in session.

[Daphne – It’s an archaic system by which any MP can launch a complaint of offence taken against anyone OUTSIDE the house, and that person is brought before parliament for ‘trial’. This last happened to Charles Demicoli, who edited an anti-Labour-government newspaper in the 1980s. The breach of privilege complaint was brought against him by Joe Debono Grech, still a Labour MP today. He was tried and sentenced by parliament. He took his case to the European Court of Human Rights after 1987 and won. This system should have been scrapped immediately then.]

Can a member of parliament ask the house of having another member’s mental state tested ? if it is seen that his/her mental condition is not in a condition to take right decisions.

My name was mentioned in Parliament by the Dottore himself. I consider this to be a privilege.

What I can’t understand is that while he has forgiven the person who sent him a message with a death-threat on his mobile phone, at the same time he objected to the “unspoken-noun” I used in criticising him.

He should, confused as he is, raise a breach of privilege complaint against himself for the way he writes about Gonzi calling him “Lawrence DCG Gonzi” or “Gambler Gonzi” and this whithout me going into the merits for the adjectives he used to describe Austin Gatt, Carm Mifsud Bonnici and the bad light he tried to shed on the late Prof. Guido Demarco and about some assertions he made about the above gentlemen.

No, ma tarx, he objected to my use of an “unspoken-noun”.

It seems that it got to him. Funny that he never raised any complaint about those who leave messages on his blog and who really “jaqalghulu kull ma ghandu”. How crazy can you get?

He’s a disgrace. The PN cannot continue to keep him in its ranks as one of its representatives.

It’s ludicrous when journalists are going to be dragged to parliament or in front of the courts, turning onto private individuals however, is something else.

The PN cannot allow this to happen, let alone leave him to it as one of its MP’s.
